DARG - Drury Alternative Route Group was formed in response to Auckland Transports announcement that the long standing proposed routes for road had changed, and now run along the base of Drury Hills.

The concerns of the residents are:

This change has occurred without consultation

This major artierial route will travel through rural areas

The route selected has significant impact on the community

Residents in the Drury Hills area will now experience increased noise, and significant loss of property values.

While the RMA Act provides for the possibility of compensation, history shows that a strong community organisation is the best way to ensure that the residents are fairly represented throughout the process.
